Course Details

This distance learning, QQI accredited Inclusion, Equality and Diversity course means that learners can study flexibly at home, or at work, and can gain a nationally accredited Qualification. The course offers an opportunity for learners to upskill and expand their understanding of the concepts of inclusivity, equality, and diversity within the context of Early Learning and Care practice in Ireland.

During this course, you will explore your own views on inclusivity, equality, and diversity. You’ll learn what these terms mean and why they are important. The course also looks at key ideas and approaches used to support equality and diversity. A major focus is on the challenges that can make it hard to be inclusive in practice. By understanding these challenges, you can start to overcome them. You’ll also learn practical strategies to help make sure all children can take part, no matter their background or needs. These strategies are proven to work in different settings. Finally, the course will help you examine how laws and policies have shaped inclusivity, equality, and diversity in early learning and care (ELC), and why this knowledge matters for your work.
