Course Details

CIW is the world’s fastest-growing vendor-neutral Internet skills training and certification program for students and professionals. More than a certification or a curriculum publisher, CIW is a Web technology standard adopted by academic institutions, governments and businesses worldwide. CMIT is an approved CIW training provider and provides CIW official training materials.

The CIW JavaScript course focuses on the fundamental concepts of the JavaScript language. This course will empower you with the skills to design client-side, platform-independent solutions that greatly increase the value of your Website by providing interactivity and interest. You will learn how to use JavaScript to communicate with users, modify the Document Object Model (DOM), control program flow, validate forms, animate images, create cookies, change HTML on the fly, and communicate with databases.   This course is a natural step from our current CIW Foundations Site Development Associate (SDA) certification.

Students are provided with the following resources:

  • Comprehensive online course materials covering the entire syllabus.
  • eLearning resources – exercises, quizzes, flashcards and a glossary.
  • Exam Study Guide – condensed study material on the specific skills objectives you need to master for the exams.
  • Exam Pre-Assessment and Practice Exams.
Who should complete this CIW JavaScript course?
  • Web Developers: This course is essential for web developers, as it imparts skills in JavaScript, a key language for web development. JavaScript’s versatility allows developers to create interactive and dynamic websites. Considering that JavaScript is used by 97.6% of all websites (W3Techs, 2021), proficiency in this language is crucial for web developers.
  • Application Programmers:Application programmers can benefit from this course by learning to use JavaScript for both client-side and server-side development, enhancing their ability to build comprehensive web applications. JavaScript’s role in web application development is significant, with frameworks like Node.js increasingly used in the industry.
  • Software Developers: For software developers, the course offers an opportunity to deepen their understanding of JavaScript, which is widely used in software development, particularly in web-based applications. The versatility of JavaScript in various environments, including server-side with Node.js, makes it a valuable skill for software developers.
  • Web Designers: Web designers can enhance their design capabilities with JavaScript knowledge, enabling them to create more interactive and user-friendly websites. As web design increasingly overlaps with front-end development, proficiency in JavaScript becomes vital for designers.
  • UI/UX Designers: UI/UX designers focused on improving user experience and interface can utilise JavaScript to add dynamic elements to web pages. This course will enable them to implement interactive features that can significantly enhance user engagement on websites and applications.
