CMIT is offering learners an opportunity to pursue the QQI Healthcare Support (Level 5 Major Award). This major award meets the Irish educational requirements to work in public and private healthcare facilities. The course has been designed to equip learners with the recognised qualification within a 10-month duration. Upon the completion of this course learners will have gained the practical and theoretical skills needed to work safely and effectively as a healthcare assistant in a variety of healthcare settings with a strong focus on individual and person-centred care. This includes a detailed course manual, webinars, engaging videos, interactive quizzes and dedicated one-to-one support from a qualified Healthcare tutor. You’ll also have access to the CMIT Digital Library, providing a wealth of additional resources. In addition, you can take part in face-to-face training days – interactive sessions where you’ll practise hands-on skills, connect with fellow learners and get guidance on your assignments and work experience, all while learning from an expert tutor.
The course materials for this QQI-certified programme are clearly structured and easy to follow. You can conveniently upload your assessments online and receive feedback through the eLearning platform. You will receive personalised feedback from your tutor on each assessment you submit. The CMIT eLearning platform is accessible from any internet-connected computer, giving you the flexibility to study anytime, anywhere.
You should expect to spend about 28 hours per week on this course. These hours include work placement, reading, studying, assessment work and attendance at classes.
Programme-directed hours are part of the total learning hours that CMIT provides. They include live classes, tutor interaction, messaging, feedback, videos, manuals and quizzes. In this programme, 20% of programme-directed hours are synchronous (live interactions) and 80% are asynchronous (learning completed at your own pace).
