Our Tutors are carefully selected as experts in their fields with extensive educational qualifications and practical experience. The role of CMIT Tutors is to correct assessments and to provide advice and support to students.

Our mission is to provide the opportunity for people to gain a recognised qualification in the most convenient and flexible way possible – distance and online learning. CMIT Distance Learning courses are externally accredited and provide learners with the opportunity to gain a recognised award on successful completion of the stipulated assessment.

Sinead O’Connor – Student Services Director

Sinead O’Connor is the Student Services Director at CMIT and has extensive experience managing accredited training environments in Ireland. She is responsible for overseeing all student services within the college, including the day-to-day management of student support operations.

Her qualifications include:

Seán O’Connor – M.Sc. (Hons), MA (Hons), B.Sc. (Hons) – Managing Director

Seán O’Connor is the Managing Director of CMIT and an eCommerce tutor. He has over 25 years of experience in senior eCommerce roles with large organisations. He has advised companies including eir, An Post, AXA, 123.ie and KBC on online strategy, digital marketing, social media and eCommerce.

Seán is a Qualified Google Ads Professional and a Google Partner. He has lectured and tutored at undergraduate level on programmes leading to awards from QQI and the Marketing Institute of Ireland.

His qualifications include:

Claire Fannin – B.Sc. (Hons) – Academic Director

Claire Fannin is the Academic Director at CMIT and a tutor in business-related programmes. She has extensive experience managing accredited training environments in Ireland.

Claire is responsible for coordinating CMIT’s quality assurance processes and has worked as a training quality assurance manager verifying and assuring QQI and other accredited programmes. She also tutors management and marketing courses.

Her qualifications include:

Jen Myler – M.Sc., B.SS. (Hons) – Programme Director

Jen Myler is the Programme Director at CMIT. She holds an MSc in Human Resource Management from University College Dublin and a Bachelor of Social Studies from Trinity College Dublin.

Jen has experience working in human resource management across both SMEs and larger private sector organisations, including roles in learning and development and compliance.

Her role at CMIT involves the management, creation, approval and review of programmes of learning. She also tutors management and leadership programmes.

Maria Holmes – Certification Manager

Maria Holmes is the Certification Manager at CMIT and is responsible for certification administration services.

Maria has over 18 years’ experience in student support, including certification administration, student registration, student support services and eLearning support.

Her primary responsibilities include maintaining certification system integrity, managing certification data and administering certification processes for QQI, ILM and ABC awards.

Hannah Forde

Hannah Forde– BA (Hons) – Academic Administrator

Hannah Forde is the Academic Administrator at CMIT. She holds a BA in English and Art History from University College Dublin and has a strong background in administration.

Her previous experience includes roles in banking, early years administration and funding, and IT administration. In her current role, Hannah provides administrative support to the academic and certification functions within the college.

Her qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Arts (Joint Honours) in English and Art History, University College Dublin

Zoe O’Connor – Digital Marketing and Technology Manager

Zoe O’Connor is the Digital Marketing and Technology Manager at CMIT. She is responsible for overseeing the college’s digital presence, including website management, digital marketing strategy, and the implementation and optimisation of technology systems to support online learning and business operations.

She works closely with academic and administrative teams to ensure that CMIT’s digital platforms effectively support both learners and staff.

Her qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Science (Honours) in E-Commerce in Retailing

Janet Kaya – Student Services Manager

Janet Kaya is the Student Services Manager at CMIT. She has extensive administrative experience with a focus on information provision and student support.

Janet is responsible for providing course information to prospective students, facilitating course enrolment and supporting students throughout their studies. Her role focuses on ensuring learners have access to and are aware of the supports available to them during their time with the college.

Her qualifications include:

Jenny Robinson – Certification Administrator

Jenny Robinson is the Certification Administrator with CMIT. Jenny has over 6 years’ experience in learning and development, training coordination and academic administration. She has extensive experience supporting the design, delivery and evaluation of learning programmes, managing learning systems and coordinating training initiatives aligned with organisational development goals.
 
Jenny’s role involves managing certification administration processes across multiple awarding bodies including QQI, ILM and ABC, ensuring accuracy of learner records, compliance with quality assurance procedures and effective coordination of certification cycles. She is also involved in supporting assessment processes, maintaining certification data and contributing to academic governance and quality assurance activities within the college.

Jean Curley - Academic Administrator

Jean has over 20 years’ experience in administration, with a strong background in customer service.

Throughout her career Jean has worked in the fields of auctioneering and property management, as well as providing project support for a Professional Conference Organiser.

Her experience has given her strong organisational, communication, and client service skills, along with the ability to support busy teams and manage a wide range of administrative responsibilities in fast-paced environments.

JackieBreen

Jackie Breen BA, Solicitor – Criminology and Mediation Tutor

Jackie Breen delivers programmes in Leadership and Management, Coaching and Mentoring, and Enterprise and Innovation. She has extensive experience supporting individuals and teams in achieving professional and organisational goals.

Jackie is an accredited coach, mentor and mediator who works with a diverse range of clients. She specialises in career transformation and supporting entrepreneurs in building effective organisational structures for sustainable growth.

She also brings over 15 years’ experience as a solicitor in the financial services sector, providing expertise in legal and regulatory matters.

James Chapman

James Chapman B.Sc. (Hons) – Web Design Tutor

James Chapman is a Web Design tutor with extensive experience in IT and web development. As both an educator and freelance web designer, he has experience consulting on, designing and building a wide range of websites, including charity, e-commerce and commercial websites. James also has significant experience in IT systems, PC maintenance and repair.

His qualifications include:

Karen Cunningham – MA, BA, H-Dip – Business and Management Tutor

Karen Cunningham holds a Master of Arts from University College Cork. Her previous experience includes management roles within the health services, hospitality, and recruitment and employment services sectors.

With a strong interest in adult education, Karen returned to higher education to complete a Higher Diploma in Event Management and a training qualification. She now works as a tutor and lecturer in business and management programmes.

Clodagh Kent – MSc (Hons), BBS. (Hons) – Business and Management Tutor

Clodagh Kent is an experienced teacher and business tutor. She has taught business and management at both further education and secondary school level.

Her commercial experience includes roles in procurement, sales and marketing, as well as managing and coordinating teams. Clodagh has also been involved in humanitarian projects, acting as a Social Welfare Officer responsible for coordinating community projects, developing partnerships with research and social development organisations, and supporting the development of long-term education strategies in disadvantaged communities.

Ciara

Ciara Douglas- PGDip., BA (Hons) - Business and Training Tutor

Ciara Douglas is a qualified Business and Economics Further Education teacher with over 10 years’ experience delivering and coordinating QQI Level 5 and Level 6 programmes.

Prior to entering teaching, Ciara worked as an Operations Manager for one of Ireland’s largest international schools, where she managed a large team responsible for delivering education programmes.

Ciara has a strong interest in safeguarding, special educational needs support and social education. She acts as a facilitator for the Active Consent programme and is a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid responder.

Deirdre Corcoran – RGN, BSc. Nursing (Hons) – Healthcare Tutor

Deirdre Corcoran is an experienced nurse with over 20 years’ experience across a wide range of clinical settings. Alongside her clinical roles, she has completed numerous professional development programmes to expand her knowledge and remain up to date with best practice.

Deirdre completed a certificate in Teaching and Assessment in Clinical Practice with University College Dublin and now applies her clinical experience and knowledge in her role as a healthcare tutor.

Fiona Ryan is a qualified nurse with over 25 years’ experience across a variety of healthcare and clinical settings. Her experience includes roles as a staff nurse and clinical nurse specialist.

Fiona has a strong interest in training and education and has previously developed and managed training programmes within clinical settings. She has delivered accredited healthcare courses following completion of her QQI Special Purpose Award in Training and Development.

Yvonne McNamara, RGN, Dip. Nursing – Healthcare Tutor

Yvonne McNamara is a qualified nurse with over 15 years’ experience across a range of healthcare and clinical settings. Her experience includes roles as a practice nurse and senior nurse manager.

Yvonne is committed to continuing professional development and has completed numerous CPD courses in areas including dermatology, chronic disease management, mental health and wellbeing, palliative care, medication management and clinical training and assessment.

Her qualifications include:

Kevin Callan B.Sc. Dip. Ac. PDE (FE) GDip Guidance Counselling - Healthcare Tutor

Kevin Callan brings over 16 years of experience working within the healthcare sector, including running a successful private acupuncture practice.

More recently, Kevin has coordinated and delivered QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support and Nursing Studies programmes, preparing students for careers in the healthcare sector.

To further support learners in their educational and career pathways, Kevin has also completed training in adult guidance counselling.

His qualifications include:

Lindsey Higgins BA (Hons) – Early Years Tutor

Lindsey Higgins holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Social Sciences and a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies. She began her career working in early intervention services as a Special Needs Assistant before developing a strong interest in early childhood education.

Lindsey has worked in Montessori and early years settings and has experience in several roles within the sector, including supervisory positions. She has a particular interest in supporting and mentoring early years educators in play-based, child-led learning and the Aistear Curriculum Framework.

Donna Forrest, BA – Early Years Tutor

Donna Forrest has over 10 years’ experience in early years services, working both as an educator and in management roles. Her current role involves leading an early years team, developing and maintaining policies, managing recruitment and staff training, and overseeing the overall operations of the centre.

Donna has a strong interest in continuing professional development and adult education and returned to higher education to complete her BA in 2022.

Sinead Mulligan has over 20 years’ experience in the Early Years sector, working both as an educator and in management roles.

Her current role involves leading an early years team, overseeing policy development and maintenance, managing recruitment and staff training, and overseeing centre operations while working closely with a Board of Management.

Sinead has a strong commitment to lifelong learning and completed her BA (Hons) with a research focus on continuing professional development before progressing directly to a Master’s degree.

Nicole O Neill, BA – Early Years Tutor

Nicole O’Neill is a qualified Early Years practitioner with over 10 years’ experience working in early years services, from educator roles through to management positions.

She also has experience supporting children with additional educational needs in both early years and primary education settings. Nicole currently works in further education and aims to bring her practical experience into her tutoring role by linking course theory to professional practice.

Adele Grazi M.Sc., MA, B.Sc. (Hons) – Psychology and Counselling Tutor

Adele Grazi has extensive experience in psychology and counselling, particularly in addiction counselling. She has worked internationally with organisations including the Salvation Army.

Adele holds postgraduate qualifications in Counselling Psychology and Work and Organisational Psychology. She is currently undertaking a PhD in Work and Organisational Psychology.

Gary Kelly

Gary Kelly M.Sc, BSc, (Hons) - Health and Management Tutor

Gary Kelly is an Emergency Medical Technician and Environmental Health and Safety Administrator. He has experience delivering training in health and safety, CPR and basic life support.

His role also involves setting, auditing and managing health and safety audits, metrics and action plans. Gary is also a volunteer member of the Order of Malta, providing EMT services at events.

His qualifications include:
