Course Details

The CompTIA IT Fundamentals certification is aimed at professionals who are considering a career in IT or to develop a broader understanding of IT.  It aims to assist those interested in IT to determine if they have a competency for information technology and if it is the right career path for them. ITF+ is the only single certification that covers all areas of IT foundations, creating a broader understanding of IT making it ideal for non-technical professionals.  This CompTIA IT Fundamentals course covers:

  • Using features and functions of common operating systems and establishing network connectivity
  • Identifying common software applications and their purpose
  • Using security and web browsing best practices

This IT Fundamentals Course includes the following features:

  • Instructor-led demonstrations and visual presentations to develop your skills based on real-world scenarios.
  • Unlike a live class, you can fast-forward, repeat or rewind all your lectures. This gives you all the benefit of hands-on training with the flexibility of doing it around your schedule 24/7.
  • Flash Cards and Education Games are also provided throughout the course.
  • Practice exams prepare you for your exams. These exams are on average 100 questions to ensure you are 100% prepared if you are taking a certification exam.
  • You can also interact and collaborate with other students through our forums, student contributions and announcement features.
Who should complete this IT Fundamentals Course?
  • Entry-Level IT Professionals: The ITF+ certification, an industry standard for entry-level IT jobs, is particularly suitable for newcomers to the IT field. It prepares individuals for roles such as technical support specialists and help desk technicians. With the expected growth of technology roles by 15% in the next decade, this certification provides a strong foundation for a career in IT.
  • Professionals in Non-Technical Fields: Ideal for professionals in various fields that require a broad understanding of IT, such as marketing, sales, and operations, ITF+ is significant due to the increasing integration of technology in all business areas. The growing trend of technology spending outside of IT departments reaching almost 90% of total tech spending underscores the importance of having a fundamental IT understanding in these roles.
  • IT Support and Help Desk Roles: Occupying a significant portion of CompTIA-certified careers, 29.8% of individuals with this certification are employed in IT help desk roles. These positions, focused on providing technical support and troubleshooting services, often do not require a bachelor’s degree. The ITF+ equips candidates with the necessary skills for these roles, enhancing their competitiveness in the job market.
  • Human Resources Professionals: A notable 29.3% of CompTIA-certified IT professionals are engaged in the HR sector, specifically in managing Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS). This role demands a blend of IT and HR skills for managing HR processes electronically. Positions like HRIS analyst, manager, and senior business analyst are well-suited for individuals with ITF+ certification, offering competitive salaries that reflect the unique combination of HR and IT expertise.
  • Emerging Technology Specialists: As IT jobs evolve with emerging technologies like AI, blockchain, and IoT, ITF+ serves as a stepping stone into these areas. Roles in cybersecurity, systems engineering, and IT architecture are particularly relevant, evidenced by the significant number of open cybersecurity jobs in the U.S. These positions require current IT knowledge and a strong grasp of new technologies, which are provided by the ITF+ certification.
