Garda Vetting Appointments

If you are a CMIT student and Garda Vetting is required as part of your course, you can book an appointment here to complete the in-person ID verification process.

To complete your Garda Vetting application, you must bring the following original documents with you to your appointment (please note that if you do not bring these, you may need to book and pay for another appointment):

1. Photo ID: Passport, Irish/EU/UK Driving Licence, Irish Cert of Naturalisation or National Identity Card
2. Proof of Address: Documents from Credit Institutions, Utility Providers, Government Bodies or Local Authorities can be accepted – must be dated within 6 months.
3. Please note, if you have resided outside the Republic of Ireland for a period of 6 months or more (from the age of 16 years) you will be required to furnish either a Police Clearance Certificate from your country (or countries of residence) or an Affidavit signed in the presence of a Commissioner of Oaths or Solicitor confirming that you have no current or pending criminal convictions prior to commencing your work placement.
