QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) is the organisation responsible for overseeing education and training qualifications in Ireland. It maintains the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ), which has ten levels, and sets the standards for awards made in both further and higher education.
CMIT is authorised to offer distance learning courses leading to QQI awards, which are officially recognised on the NFQ. QQI also validates education and training programmes, issues qualifications across the Further Education and Training sector, and ensures quality assurance systems in colleges and private education providers are effective.
The QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer (6S3372) course is an accredited, flexible, tutor-supported eLearning programme designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to design, deliver and evaluate training programmes.
Over a 20-week period, learners complete two modules — “Training Needs Identification & Design” and “Training Delivery & Evaluation” — covering adult learning theory, instructional design, delivery techniques, and assessment.
Upon successful completion, participants receive a QQI Level 6 Training & Development Special Purpose Award, which is recognised in Ireland’s National Framework of Qualifications.
