Course Details

Mediation is a skill which is increasingly in demand. It is an independent process which assists parties to come to an agreement through a collaborative process. The Mediator supports parties in coming to an agreement.

This Diploma in Mediation course is designed for people who wish to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of Mediation. Mediation is about helping others to help themselves, assisting them with their communication and relationships; working with people to develop their powers of negotiating, achieving resolutions where everyone wins, are just a few examples of what a skilled and practiced mediator can help their clients achieve. In this course you will learn how to communicate effectively with everyone you meet. You will learn to recognise types of body language, gestures and other non verbal forms of communication.

Students receive a course manual, assignments and studyguide plus tutor support. The material is also available in audio format, this enables you to add the material to your iPod, to convert onto a CD and listen in the car or to be placed on any MP3 player.

Your Tutor will support you throughout the duration of the course. You complete the course by undertaking activities and assignments. You will receive the course manual, assignments and study guide plus tutor support. Our student support team are also available for any other queries that you may have whilst completing your course. Assessment

  • This award is assessed through a series of tutor marked assignments, which are submitted by the student. There are no exams.


Accreditation

  • This course is awarded by Ascentis, and on successful completion, students will be awarded a Level 3 "Diploma in Mediation". Ascentis is approved by the UK Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, whose awards are fully recognised in Ireland.
