About the Course


This course is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge to run, manage and deliver effective training programmes. The course covers the following: (1) Training and Development, (2) The Learning Process, (3) Learner Profiles, (4) Training Needs Analysis, (5) Training Programme Preparation, (6) Traning Methods, (7) Training Support Systems, (8) Classroom and Presentation Skills, (9) Communication, Feedback and Interpersonal Skills, (10) Assessment, (11) Evaluation of Training, and (12) Professional Standards.

 

This course leads to a national award Level 6 Train the Trainer Certificate (ref. E31079) from FETAC. CMIT is registered with FETAC to offer programmes leading to FETAC awards in the National Framework of Qualifications in Ireland.


How the course is delivered

This course is delivered through 6 workshops, and is supported by CMIT's eLearning System during the duration of the course. The Tutor, Gerard Coll (BA. H.Dip Ed.) is a qualified and experienced Teacher and Lecturer. His role is to deliver the course, and provide you with support throughout the duration of the programme - both during workshops, and through the messaging system on our eLearning System.

This includes comprehensive course manuals, videos, quizzes and access to your Tutor. You will also be able to upload assignments online and receive Tutor feedback. Who should complete this course?

  • Those who wish to commence a career in Training and Education, and receive an approved National Qualification.


Prerequisites

  • Leaving Cert (or equivalent) and/or relevant life experience.
  • Basic working knowledge of computers is required to do the course.


Dates

  • The next course will be run in Autumn 2010.
  • Location: Dublin.


Assessment

  • This course is assessed through completion of assignments and skills demonstrations, which are integral elements of the course.
  • As part of our quality assurance, assessment work will be marked by an Internal Assessor, then checked by an Internal Verifier and an independent FETAC External Authenticator.


Accreditation

  • Following successful completion you will receive a FETAC Level 6 Train the Trainer Certificate (ref. E31079) from FETAC.
  • The Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) is the national awarding body for further education and training in Ireland. CMIT is registered with FETAC to offer programmes leading to FETAC awards in the National Framework of Qualifications in Ireland.
  • Please note that there is a EUR60 fee payable for administration, moderation and certification.
