Student (August 2012) I thoroughly enjoyed studying with CMIT the Tutor was excellent in her response and recommendations. The fact that I was allowed to progress at my own pace was of great benefit. I found the manuals extremely helpful and intend to keep them for future reference. I have learnt a great deal from doing both assessments and would recommend to my colleagues.

I decided to do this course online because it would suit my lifestyle and I felt it really is the way to go. Two work colleagues are doing level 5 in different collages and after a full year they are still not finished - I can work at my own pace and get ahead if I have time. I really enjoyed this course - I didn't think that I would but I surprised myself. My tutor was great and even replied to me over the weekend which was fantastic because I was under pressure with an assignment and couldn't move on without her response. The quiz were great at the end of each section and the knowledge gained is amazing.

I choose to study with CMIT as it was referred to me by the County Childcare Committee in Clonmel, I contacted them as I was interested in doing the course having been made redundant from my job. They recommended this as it was more suitable to me than a classroom situation as I have three schoolgoing children and paying childcare costs was not a option for me.

My tutor provided me with detailed feedback and support throughout the course. I was confident that any questions that I asked or any clarification that needed would be provided quickly by my tutor. This course was very relevant to my work with children. It helped me to become more professional in my dealings with parents and the children, my colleagues and the HSE Inspection Team. I felt that the course notes were very detailed. The modular assignments were relevant to the topics studied. I feel that the course is excellent as it is. It is relevant and it is current, especially in relation to Aistear.

Just one thing that I found was that I wasn't told that I had received feedback on my assignments at the start although I did receive a notification on my previous assessment which was very helpful as I wasn't re-checking online whether I had received a proceed/re-submit and it took worry off me. Just to send a notification to students to tell them that there is feedback waiting for them.

I am currently completing the Level 6 Supervision in Childcare, to date i have two components completed, Previous to my starting the course i had a number of concerns in relation to completing the course online. I have recieved excellent feedback from my tutor, i can complete my assessments and exams at times which are convient to me. I am currently employed as a manager in a childcare centre, I no longer have to travel in the evenings to further my studies. I aim to have the full course completed by the month end July and be in a position to start another course with CMIT. I would recommend for anyone interested in completing an online fetac course to use the fantastic resources offered by CMIT.

I work all day and I finish late so I do not have time to go to lectures, this course was perfect for me as I could study at home and at my own pace. I enjoyed the course, I learnt a lot and I improved my skills. I also learn how to manage my time, but it took me a while to get used to study on the computer all the time because I am more used to study looking at the material on paper.
