Course Details
This is a practical programme where you are learning to become a qualified Wedding Planner. The course covers the following areas (1) Wedding Planning, (2) Theme and Venue Planning, (3) Catering and Entertainment, (4) Budgeting and Preparing Proposals, (5) Ceremony and etiquette, and (6) Marketing your Business., This course is also suitable if you are planning your own wedding.
With the cost of an average wedding in 2008 estimated at €30,000 it is essential for clients to ensure that they are getting the best value for their money and need to ensure that everything goes to plan during one of their most expensive outlays during the couples life. The wedding industry is made up of multiple small enterprises like caterers, venues, dress suppliers, photographers, musicians etc. This highly diverse market, coupled with the large sums of money that are spent on creating wedding celebrations, means that the role of the Wedding Planner has grown in importance.

Prerequisites
- No previous experience or qualifications are necessary to commence the course.
Assessment
- This course is assessed through Project Work.
- All work submitted must be your own work. There is no exam with this course.
Accreditation
- This course is awarded by Ascentis, and on successful completion, students will be awarded a Level 3 "Diploma in Wedding Planning" from Ascentis. Ascentis is approved by the UK Qualifications and Curriculum Authority. A UK Award at level 3 is recognised as roughly equivalent to a FETAC Level 5 Award in Ireland.
