This distance learning course equips Project Managers and prospective Project Managers with comprehensive project management skills. Entry Requirements / Prerequisites

  • Leaving Cert or equivalent, and/or relevant Life or Work Experience.
  • Candidates must have the opportunity to practice project management skills on a work-related project.
  • Candidates must have the agreement of a mentor / supervisor who can oversee their practical project work.
  • As this programme is delivered through distance learning, students must be capable of studying on their own initiative.
  • A basic working knowledge of computers and access to a computer with internet access is required to do the course.

Assessment

  • This course is assessed through an Assignment (which entails developing a Work Breakdown Structure and a Project Plan) and a Skills Demonstration of your project management skills in a business context, including setting up a project, running a project, controlling change, managing people aspects, and planning and monitoring a project.
  • All work submitted must be your own work. There is no exam with this course.
  • As part of our quality assurance, student assessment work will be marked by an Internal Assessor, then checked by an Internal Verifier and an independent FETAC External Authenticator.


Transfer and Progression to Further Studies

  • This course leads to a level 6 component award on the National Framework of Qualifications.
  • Students who successfully complete this programme may use this level 6 component certificate as credit towards a number of FETAC Advanced Certificates including: Management (BMANX). For more details contact us.


Learner Protection

  • CMIT is subject to section 43 of the Qualifications Act 1999 and as such, has put in place appropriate arrangements in place for the protection of learners on FETAC programmes which have a duration of three months or longer, should CMIT unexpectedly cease to provide such a FETAC programme. To comply with this, CMIT has either:- (1) arrangements in place with at least two other FETAC registered organisations so that learners may transfer to complete their programme, or (2) a Bank Guarantee is in place so that learners may be refunded.



Accreditation

  • Following successful completion you will receive a FETAC Level 6 component certificate in Project Management (L32198).
  • The Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) is the national awarding body for further education and training in Ireland. CMIT is registered with FETAC to offer programmes leading to FETAC awards in the National Framework of Qualifications in Ireland.
  • Please note that there is a EUR60 fee payable for administration, moderation and certification.
