Dermot McMahon - MSc, BSc
Counselling and Psychology Tutor

Dermot McMahon is an Assistant Psychologist and has worked in a number of clinical settings. Dermot has extensive experience facilitating learning including work with prisoners and in his role at an Intellectual Disability service. He has also supported adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder diagnoses and tutored an adolescent boy who has Asperger's Syndrome. He has a keen interest in contributing to psychological literature (especially to the fields of abnormal and clinical psychology) and has conducted research into psychological well-being (in 2007) and Suicide Prevention in the UK and Ireland (in 2008). Dermot currently holds two Assistant Psychologist Posts working with those with long-term pervasive mental health difficulties and those entering recovery from addiction. Peter Wilcock studied at Blackpool College of Art and the Regent Street Polytechnic in London. He has a lifelong association with newspapers where he has worked as a photographer for the Daily Mail, the Daily Express Group in Manchester, and as a freelancer for the Press Association. In 1980, Peter won the coveted North West News Photographer of the Year award. He is an experienced lecturer and writer on Photography and freelances for the Irish nationals including the Irish Times, Irish Independent and Irish Examiner. He is also a member of the National Union of Journalists and the Press Photographers Association of Ireland. His education qualifications are:

Dermot McCabe is a writer within extensive experience in Ireland and abroad. He has been published in various magazines, and has read his poetry on radio. He is also a novelist and recently completed a Gothic Trilogy. He has worked in a variety of roles in both Radio and Television. He also runs Writers Workshops which provides critical assessment of new and emerging writers work. He is also Editor of an Irish Arts Journal, and writes reviews of poetry and short stories collections. His education qualifications are:
